Tips for Maximizing Your Partnership

Congratulations on being selected as a Community Bag Program partner at your designated Stop & Shop! Here you will find outreach ideas and resources to help you make the most of this opportunity.

Before Your Selection Month Begins

  • Get familiar with the Community Bag Program by reviewing the program website and Welcome to the Program video.
  • Send the Announcement Email to your staff, board, and volunteers to make sure everyone knows when and where to buy a Community Bag.
  • Kick off your outreach using the Head Start Tools to share the news with your supporters.
  • Explore the Resource Center to find email templates, social media examples, downloadable flyers, a promotional video, and more.
  • Look for the social media posts in the Monthly Toolkit and schedule your posts early! This way, all your social media outreach will be ready for when your benefiting month starts.

During Your Selection Month

  • Announce the start of your selection period with the Launch Day Email.
  • Visit your selected Stop & Shop and post a picture of the Community Bag rack. This way, your supporters will know exactly where to go to purchase a bag in support of your organization.
  • Check out the Monthly Toolkit for social media posts, an Instagram Story, a flyer, and a promotional video.
  • Brainstorm creative ways to promote the partnership with the Social Media Examples.
  • Feeling inspired? Create your own post or video with help from the Image Bank.
  • With the Instagram Story found in the Monthly Toolkit, you can post in just minutes! Since an Instagram Story disappears in 24 hours, they are the perfect way to remind your followers to support your organization at Stop & Shop.
  • Mix up how you spread the news by checking out all the tools available in the Resource Center!

After Your Selection Month Ends

  • Thank your supporters for their help with the Thank You Post found in the Monthly Toolkit. Simply download the post and you are ready to share!
  • Sit back and relax! Approximately one week after your selection month ends, you will receive a final email with the total amount that will be donated to your organization by Stop & Shop and when your check will be sent. To update your address or ask any questions, please contact Program Manager Melissa Hansen at stopandshop@psitmatters.com or (603) 380-9355.
  • Hoping to partner with the Community Bag Program again? Your nonprofit will continue to be available for selection by the Store Leadership Team, so there is no need to reapply for the program. When selected, your organization will receive an email approximately one month before your selection begins.
